Now we're slipping near the edge
Holding something we don't need
All this delusion in our heads
Is gonna bring us to our knees
So come on, let it go
Just let it be
Why don't you be you
And I'll be me?
Everything that's broke
Leave it to the breeze
Why don't you be you
And I'll be me?

How she even ended up in his car really surprised her. The thing is, she had lost her way just like she had feared. The only way she can find her way back is by being on the main road. She can find Tobi's place from there.
Only if she knew how to get to the main road.
'Do you stay around?' It was that Marcus guy. She thought he had left already but here he was standing near his car, she suppose.
She was done eating and was going to find her way back home or loose her way the more. Whichever one it is, she wasn't going to stay at a spot all day and expect a miracle to happen.
Why does it look like he was waiting for someone.
Her?
Well, that looks weird! She wasn't even wearing any make up nor was wearing any body revealing dress.
Or what sane reason does he have for waiting for her?
He probably wasn't waiting for her. She was just having too great expectations.
'Well, something like that. What about you?'
'Yeah. I do stay a few blocks away. Let me drop you off at your place.'
'That wasn't a request was it?' Does she like his straightforwardness?
And those lips of his, he could just keep talking and she would watch them move all day.
'I am not ordering you either. You have the right to decline even though that would hurt.'
'I hope you don't see me as some weirdo or psycho but would I seem stewpid, maybe a little bit out of it if I tell you I don't know how to get back to where I stay?'
The small smile playing on his lips certainly confirmed it. He was thinking she was crazy already.
'Yeah. Weird right? It's fine. You can just take me to the rehab now. I won't fight it.'
'You are just way too funny!' He laughed his mouth barely opening. That was sooooo cute!
'But, you are kidding right?' He was asking to confirm her sanity. That smile of his makes her seem completely foolish.
Way to go Tori! You just shot yourself in the leg!
'Did you just move here?' He asked when he saw how serious she was. Thank God he wasn't dragging her to his car hands and legs tied and straight to the psychiatric hospital.
Why didn't he jump to conclusion like every other person would?
He has some charming character you know.
'Apparently, yeah. Now, if your offer still stands, you won't mind helping me to the main road would you?'
And that was how she ended up in his car. On the seat beside the driver's.
She had her face on the road but she could tell he was staring at her so much he could barely concentrate on the road. His eyes were all over her like some specimen which needs close observation. That look was creepy and it got her cringing under his stare.
Is he some perv or....?
'Would it sound made up if I tell you that you look exactly like someone I know?'
Now was she disappointed he was using that move? It is lame.
'When you said it now, it sounds so crappy and made up. You can come up with something better.'
Those styles don't work again bro.
'I know it would be hard for you to believe me but you guys have the same eyes. It was what drawn me to you at first...'
Wait a minute, was this guy flirting with her or what? Just as she was about asking, her phone started to ring again.
Tobi.
She wasn't picking up. She hung up. She was still so mad at him.
'Your boyfriend?'
'No. Some stalker.' How would Tobi react to that if he hears that. She grimaced at how that would have hit him so mad. And all that played and replayed in her head was steam coming out of his ears in anger.
That would have been one point for her!
Wait a minute, they were already on the main road. Tobi's call distracted her.
'You can pull over here. I can find my way now.'
He obeyed and she alighted.
'It was fun talking to you. He said through his parted lips.
'Yeah. It was nice knowing you too and thanks for paying back there.' She smiled up at him and he was back on the road and her eyes followed as their distance widened.
'Boom!' That sound in her ear scared her. It was right behind her neck and before she knew it, she had punched the maker of the sound and she heard a crack sound! Like she just crushed a bone.
'Ouch! What was that for!' It was Tobi and was she surprised he was right behind her? She was holding his nose.
Did she break his nose? At least it wasn't bleeding so she won't apologise. She was still so mad at him.
'Did you really have to scare someone like that? Well, you deserved it.' She quickly said folding her arms across her chest and turning her head to a side.
'What's up with the attitude? Were u not supposed to apologise?' Tobi framed annoyance. He just needs to make her feel guilty first so that he can escape apologising
' I would just go to the hospital right now!' He turned to walk to his car which he parked right behind them. He was going to open the door and she still wasn't following.
Why is she so stubborn?
'Well, let me see.' She was swallowing her pride and was touching his nose now. How did she even get to him so fast?
'Ouch!' He groaned. It doesn't even hurt. And who says he wasn't good at acting? Or is she the the gullible one?
'Sorry,' she said, her face strewned with worry. Tobi couldn't contain his laughter she caught him trying to hold it back and a real punch landed on his nose.
'Why did you do that?' It really hurts now.
'You can be really petty you know? Why did you leave without telling me?' She walked away from him.
'You can't possibly be telling me to start arguing with you on the roadside, can you? Get in the car, we'll talk on our way home.' The 'are you serious' look on her face which is actually a raised brow and a tightened lip made him add '..please?'
She climbed inside the car and they were on their way home.
'So, are you going to apologise now or not?' You would be surprised that was coming from Tobi right. Tori's jaw dropped and that was followed by her rapping series of punches on his arm not minding he was driving.
'Really? That was cruel! Okay fine. I'm sorry. I had something important to attend to.'
'You are always unto something important. Are you a policeman or something?'
'I'm far more important than policemen. You can think of me as a superhero. I always save the day.' He seemed so proud of himself. She couldn't help snorting.
Now, she was so sure he was dropped off a cliff at birth.
'I am still so very mad at you. Don't think your cockiness can save you this time.'
'Well, I don't need help I know I'm forgiven already....' The look she gave him told him he wasn't. '...Or. Fine! I'll make it up to you. Choose venue, date and time and I'll be ready. We'd be going out for real. Something like a date. Is that good enough?'
'Now you want to bribe your way out...'
'What exactly do you want me to do! You can...'
'Okay Okay. Fine! I'd think about it...'
'Better. And judging by the looks of things, you dropping off a car, it seemed you made new friends while you were walking. Who is the new catch?'
Was he winking or did she just imagine that?
'Yeah. And thankfully, he doesn't make pointless egoistical talks and he definitely isn't arrogant.'
'And who told you I'm egoistical? The only problem with me is I've got superiority complex. Your new catch must be boring!' He groaned.
Well, he he sure isn't as interesting as you.

Stepping inside the compound...
'I'm here!' Tife yelled throwing her hands in the air. She was in the small hut before the main building. She was sitting on a plastic chair and a plastic table was before her. It looked like she was studying.
Tori and Tobi both walked to her.
'What are you doing?' Tori asked standing behind her and looking at what she was writing.
'You know, Jamb is approaching and I have like the whole world to assimilate before it comes. My main problem is chemistry. Why do I really have to know what pentene is?'
'Organic chemistry?'
'That is just the main problem I've got.'
'Can I help?' Tori asked.
'Sure...'
'Boringgggg!!' Tobi moaned as he left the hut and went inside.
'So what about your mum? Tori asked, feeling really bad for the woman.
'Well, she cooked disaster and I had been sitting here after taking a few snacks. I guess she is preparing to go out now.'
'Okay. Let's start. Are we to start from the introduction to organic chemistry?' Tori asked collecting the textbook Tife had in her hands. It wasn't even a book. It was a photo album.
'This doesn't look like organic chemistry.' Tori said opening up the album.
'Well, I wanted to see my dad. In the pictures. I hardly know him you know.' Tife said.
Tori would have probed further but she just let it be. If Tife wants to talk about it, she would go on and if she doesn't, then so be it.
'I was told he left mum and never came back.' She continued. 'I heard Tobi was very fond of him. He was like his role model and him leaving like that completely shattered him. I was told Tobi became so menlacholic and depressed that grandpa, before his death, had to take him in with him. Ever since then, Tobi doesn't want to hear anything about him. It's amazing he is a talkative now.' She smiled as she said it.
'I really wished I knew my dad. So, I won't have to judge him based on what I heard.'
Now, she understands why Tobi doesn't want to talk about it. Seeing how Tife was feeling about it, she tried to change topic.
'What is this?' Tori asked pointing at what looked like a giant white millepede on the album.
Tife chuckled. 'It's not a what. It's a who. And that is Tobi.'
Tori had to squint her gaze to see that it was really him. He was so young and all wrapped in POP except for his face making him look somewhat like an Egyptian mummy. Tori couldn't hold back her laughter. This was pretty hilarious. She needs to get a hold of this picture and enlarge it and possibly place it somewhere the whole world could see.
'What happened to him?' She asked after her laughter subsided.
'Well, we were at the amusement park and being someone who was afraid of height but wouldn't admit it, he went with us and when it was time to go on the ferry's wheel, we couldn't find him. He must have chickened out and when we eventually did find him, he was unconscious and almost all part of his body was broken. He was knocked down by some boys sonewhere after he must have hurled insults at them or something even though he wouldn't talk about it, I figured it out'
'But why take his picture in this kind of condition?'
'Well, he was among the school football team and they need a picture of him for the year book so mum just had to snap like that and amazingly, this is the only copy we have left.' Tife mused.
Tori had this devilish thought run through her mind. She excused herself from Tife and went to meet Tobi inside. He was watching TV not with much interest though.
'I think I know where we should go for the make-up date you promised.'
'Where?' He asked, his mind still on the TV.
'Amusement park.' She announced and just as she expected, he turned to her and his eyes widened while Tori just smirked at him.
